Special Session 2: Human-Computer Interaction in Intelligent Driving (智能驾驶中的人机交互)

Human–Computer Interaction (HCI) in intelligent driving has become a critical research area with the rapid advancement of intelligent transportation systems and automated driving technologies. Human–AI collaboration is gradually transforming traditional driving modes, reshaping how drivers interact with vehicles and transportation systems. While intelligent driving technologies have great potential to improve traffic safety, mobility efficiency, and user experience, they also introduce significant human factors and safety challenges, including automation misuse, driver overreliance, reduced situation awareness, cognitive workload fluctuations, takeover failures, and trust calibration issues. As driving increasingly evolves from manual control to shared human–machine decision making, understanding the interaction between drivers and intelligent systems becomes essential for ensuring safe, reliable, and user-centered mobility. This topic therefore focuses on the design, evaluation, and optimization of human-centered intelligent driving systems, including driver monitoring, takeover behavior, multimodal interaction, trust in automation, explainable AI, interface usability, and human factors in automated driving safety.
